About the Datasets

All datasets have been collected by Urban Critical Zone scientists, researchers, and their supporting teams. Clicking on a dataset title below will direct you to a page that contains a link to a Google Sheet with the data, a link to a short background about the dataset and research.

You can view the datasets at the bottom of this page.

Tips

When you click on the button to access the data you wish to explore, it will open in a View-only Google Sheet. You will not be able to  do anything with the data yet. From here, you have three options:

  1. If you are comfortable exploring and analyzing data in Google Sheets, then you can make your own copy:

Click "File" in the upper left corner. From that drop down list, click "Make a copy." This will create a dataset file that belongs to you and lives in your Google Drive.

  2. If you prefer to use Excel to explore and analyze data, then you can download the data as an Excel file:

Click "File" in the upper left corner. From that drop down list, hover over "Download," and then select “Microsoft Excel (.xlsx)” from the pop-out menu. This will download an Excel version of the dataset to your hard drive.

  3. If you want to use CODAP to explore the data, you will need to download the dataset as a .CSV file:

Click "File" in the upper left corner. From that drop down list, hover over "Download," and then select “Comma Separated Values (.csv)' from the pop-out menu. This will download a .CSV version of the dataset to your hard drive. From here, you can drag and drop the file into the CODAP platform. This Getting Started with CODAP Handbook offers additional tips and hints for using the CODAP platform.
