Current Research

Dr. Moore is collaborating with Dr. Chris Solomon and NYSDEC biologists, Rich Pendleton and Gregg Kenney, on the history and future of fisheries management in the Hudson River. Dr. Moore analyzes long-term Hudson fish and ecosystem monitoring datasets to identify abundance patterns among the diverse fish of the Hudson River over space and time. These results will be used to help optimize future monitoring and fisheries management in this ecosystem.

Previous Research

Dr. Moore received her PhD from Virginia Tech in the Biological Sciences Department working with Dr. Meryl Mims. In her dissertation research, she characterized spatial and temporal variation in multidimensional frog and toad biodiversity. This work spanned from characterizing temporal population genetic dynamics to quantifying relationships among species-level ecological and evolutionary diversity metrics across the United States. Following her PhD, Dr. Moore completed a postdoc within the Arkansas Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Unit collaborating with Dr. Daniel Magoulick to examine the effects of stream alteration on fish and aquatic macroinvertebrate communities in the Ouachita-Ozark Interior Highlands Region in AR, MO, and OK.
