Join us for a morning bird photography walk with wildlife photographer, ornithologist, and ecologist Dr. Loren Merrill. As we walk Cary's grounds, Loren will discuss bird IDs, and offer tips and insights into the technical and conceptual aspects of bird photography.
Bird diversity should be at or near its peak, and there should be a good mix of resident species and spring migrants: warblers, vireos, orioles, tanagers, swallows, herons, ducks, cuckoos, grosbeaks, and many other groups are possible. This walk will provide opportunities to capture images of birds that nest on the grounds and those just passing through.
Bring your camera or phone, dress for the weather, and wear appropriate hiking footwear.
This event will be held rain or shine. Space is limited, and registration is required.
*Please note: There is a small fee for this event to reduce no-shows. Only 12 slots are being offered. If this fee is a burden, please drop a note to (quillenl@caryinstitute.org).
