Dispatches from the Southern Hemisphere:
Carbon signals from the Amazon to Antarctica
Dr. Amy Zanne in conversation with Dr. Joshua Ginsberg

Dr. Amy Zanne is a distinguished ecologist and evolutionary biologist who explores how interactions among plants, microbes, and insects affect ecosystem functions. She has greatly advanced our understanding of decomposition and how it impacts carbon cycling.

Currently, Amy has projects in Australia, Brazil, Chile, Panama and Antarctica, as well as local field projects on Cary’s campus. Her latest work examines the boundaries of different ecosystems and how the changes we see in them can inform landscapes of the future.

Amy joined Cary Institute as a Senior Scientist in July 2024.
