Register

Join Cary Institute for a family-friendly trail opening event.

Take a guided walk along our Wappinger Creek trail, participate in an eco-scavenger hunt, and learn about Cary science and education programs and volunteer opportunities. This special event will also feature offerings from several local libraries.

The NorthEast-Millerton Library will offer a nature-based story walk for young readers and a craft for all ages; the Dover Plains Bookmobile will feature a curated selection of books; and the Millbrook Library will share adult programming opportunities, including sign-ups for their Walking Club, which often meets on Cary’s grounds. Offering joint raffle prizes - earn tickets by participating in activities.

Registration is required to ensure we have enough trail guides and supplies.

Please note:

  • Walks will be easy to moderate and 0.3-0.6 miles over uneven terrain.
  • Trails are not ADA accessible.
  • Be tick aware…we encourage wearing light-colored clothing, long pants, long socks pulled up over pants, and tucked-in shirts. Consider spraying insect repellent on shoes/socks
