- A garter snake almost got stepped on.
- It seemed untroubled by close approach.
- A perfect mushroom was up ahead.
- Leaves don't fall sideways in calm air - I stopped to look.
- It took a while to find the wood frog.
- A tricolored mushroom was in several locations.
- The bottom of the Old Gravel Pit looked like early spring.
- The Fern Glen was almost devoid of color.
- Our late flowering black snakeroot was finished.
- And seed pods were forming.
- Back in the rich fen, poison sumac was sporting typical colors.
- The loose, white berries should remove any doubt.
- Familiar stag horn sumac was around the corner.
